Jim Cameron Wins ‘Blood Donor of the Game’ Prize at Fenway Park

Jim Cameron of Darien  recently won the prize of being “Blood Donor of the Game” at Fenway Park when the New York Yankees played the Red Sox on July 12. Cameron, founder of the Connecticut Commuter Action Group, one of the people running Darien’s TV79 Government Access Channel and a member of the Darien Representative Town Meeting, was entered in the American Red Cross contest when he recently gave blood. The Red Cross is looking for more blood donors during the summer, when donations normally go down (in part because about a fifth of donations come from high school and college donation drives when schools are in session). You, too, can enter to win a prize as “Blood Donor of the Game” when you donate blood (until the baseball season winds down). Here’s the announcement (slightly edited) from the American Red Cross:

Jim Cameron recently had the experience of a lifetime when he was honored on the field at Fenway Park prior to the Boston Red Sox game against the New York Yankees on July 12, 2015.
