A 43-year-old Darien woman had been issued a protective order forbidding her from assaulting a particular person, but she did anyway, in a domestic incident, Darien police said.

Police gave this account of what happened:

The woman, according to the victim, arrived unannounced at a home in Darien sometime before 11:18 p.m., Tuesday, May 25 (when police were called).

After about an hour, an argument took place, and at some point the woman struck the victim in the face with a closed fist. Police later saw that the victim had a visible injury on the victim’s nose.

Police arrested the woman, charging her with violation of a protective order and third-degree assault.

The woman was held on a $50,000 bond until she was taken the following morning to state Superior Court in Stamford. Her bond was reduced to $35,000, and she was released after paying it.
