Darien Library has these 10 digital technology-related programs of various types planned for upcoming days, weeks and months to help parents, families and adults become savvier with technology.

Some of the programs are about using technology, others use technology but are about something else (but they may give you practice).

You can also get weekly emails with tech tips.

Book Group Savvy Workshop: The Digital Library
Tuesday, Jan. 26 from
6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
A  hands-on workshop designed to help you download to your device (Kindle, iPad, smart phone, Android), navigate the Library ebook collection, maneuver Zinio (online magazine collection) and investigate new book group websites!

App Evaluation for Parents
Thursday, Jan. 28 at 4:15 p.m.
With the millions of apps out there it can be difficult to choose good apps for your kids. Join us as we discuss evaluation techniques.

Friday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m.
Join us and take a peek into the world of YouTube workouts as we take on a ten-minute fitness challenge.

Gabbin’ With Grandkids
Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 3 p.m.
Long-distance grandparents can stay in touch with new technology like Skype and Apple’s FaceTime. We will show you how to utilize these technologies to read your grandkids a cherished book or just gab about what’s good.

One-Day Robot Camp
Saturday, Feb. 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A fun-filled day for anyone looking to try their hands at robotics. At the conclusion of this event, participants will leave with a working autonomous robot that they built and programmed that day. Learn soldering, DC motor theory, and Arduino programming. No coding experience necessary.

Finding it difficult to navigate new digital terrain? Parents are invited to attend book discussions on topics such as screentime and networked teens. Breakfast will be served.

Calling all moms, dads, entrepreneurs, college students, or anyone interested in coding! We will explore HTML terminology, and how to create tags, headings, images, and links. No experience necessary.
