Join Darien Library for a panel discussion by four social media mavens on how to have productive conversations in a hostile social media environment.

Attendees will gain an appreciation and practical guidance of how to build relationships of mutual understanding and respect with those with very different world views than their own.

The panel members are Mark Nowotarski, president of the Rotary Club of Darien, Melanie Szlucha, small business owner of Redinc, LLC, Carolina Bortelleto, Communications Manager for Connecticut Students for a Dream and Kerstin Rao teacher of the gifted program at Bedford Middle School in Westport.

Social media has an ever more powerful impact on our lives. Many people have felt overwhelmed and dismayed by the barrage of hostility they encounter in their social media environments.

Our panel members will share their personal and professional stories of how to constructively deal with hostility to build stronger relationships of mutual respect. This is a new world. None of us are experts. We are only looking to share experiences with our audience as we navigate this new environment together.

Darien Library is proud to cosponsor this event with the Rotary Club of Darien. Refreshments will be provided.
