The institute, at the Bristol, Rhode Island campus of Roger Williams University, offered the program in partnership with the New England Association of Chiefs of Police.
Coursework addressed contemporary concepts of management and leadership relevant to the responsibilities of first line supervisors in a modern criminal justice agency.
The program, presented by experienced academics and law enforcement veterans, took place from Dec. 2 to 13.
Designed to be a comprehensive training program, it offered training on topics including operational leadership and management principles, problem-solving, organizational and interpersonal communications, labor relations, disciplinary issues, and ethical decision-making.
Police who attended the program came from throughout New England.
