With school ending in about a month, Darien Library is gearing up to provide your elementary and middle school kids with summer reading and some other summer fun. Here’s some of what they’re doing:

It’s that time of year again!
Darien Library’s children’s librarians are gearing up to visit YOUR schools during the month of May and early June.
We will be visiting each and every student that attends elementary and middle school in Darien. During our visits, we will share exclusive details about our Summer Reading program and reveal top-secret booklists that we have been working on for months! The dates of each of our visits are below.
- May 11 & June 9: Pear Tree Point
- May 12: Ox Ridge
- May 18 & 19: Holmes
- May 24, 25, and 26: Royle
- May 31st, June 1 and 2: Hindley
- June 6th: Middlesex Middle School
- June 7 & 8: Tokeneke
Decorate Your Bike on Monday; Storytime at Tilley Pond Park

Spokey Book Tricycle
Kids aren’t the only ones to have fun with bikes. Meet “Spokey,” Darien Library’s book tricycle.
In celebration of Ride your Bike to School Day and Ride you Bike to Work Week we will have two very special programs.
Decorate your Bike
Monday, May 16 at 4 p.m.
Bring your bike and decorate it in the library’s courtyard.
Open. All Ages.
Reading and Rolling Storytime at Tilley Pond Park
Friday, May 20 at 10 a.m.
The library book bike, Spokey will be at Tilley Pond Park for as special storytime. Participants are invited to bring their bikes and take a ride with the Children’s Librarians.
