Popular instructor and longtime Darien resident Donna Holt is at the Darien Community Association (DCA) to teach two different classes to learn and play Mah Jongg based on your ability. Summer Boot Camp in July: Beginners – Learn to Play Mah Jongg in Four Days! Don’t have time to devote to new activities during the busy months of September—June? Come learn the fun, addictive and stimulating game of American Mah Jongg in less than a week, in an encouraging, relaxing summer atmosphere. From Monday through Thursday morning, you will learn the basics of understanding the tiles and the Mah Jongg card, and how to select and strengthen a winning hand.

Three thousand eggs will greet little ones at this year’s Annual Mom’s Morning In Easter Egg Hunt on the Darien Community Association’s great lawn, to be held Friday, April 14th (Good Friday) at 10 a.m.

Parents and caregivers are invited to bring toddlers and preschoolers – and their Easter egg baskets of course – to start hunting and gathering at 10 a.m. sharp (the eggs go quickly!). A special appearance by our popular Easter Bunny — who is very happy to pose for photos — will top off this delightful morning activity. Special price of $10 per car; reservations are not required. Bridge Players Master Class with Augie Boehm at DCA

The Darien Community Association is delighted to present a Bridge Master Class with Augie Boehm on Friday, April 7 at 9:30 a.m.

This Master Class for Intermediate to advanced players will discuss the following topics:

Part I: The cheating scandals that have rocked big-time bridge, both past and present. Part II: Famous deals to bid and play from championship events. Augie Boehm has taught bridge in and around the New York City area spanning four decades. He is the author of nine books (his most recent book, Bridge Smarts, was announced as the 2016 Book of the Year by the American Bridge Teachers Association), a regular columnist for the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) monthly magazine, and conducts bridge seminars worldwide. A top professional player and winner of countless tournaments, he is also an accomplished pianist who performs annually at Carnegie Hall.
