Halloween Tips for Keeping Kids Safe

On Halloween night, when lots of adults are drinking, kids out trick-or-treating and their parents need to watch out for intoxicated drivers, even in the early evening, according to safety organizations — but that’s not the only safety risk to keep in mind. When selecting a costume make sure it is the right size to prevent trips and falls. Decorate costumes and bags with reflective tape or stickers and, if possible, choose light colors. Since masks can sometimes obstruct a child’s vision, try non-toxic face paint and makeup whenever possible.
