Former Selectman David Bayne was elected chairman of the Darien Democratic Town Committee at its meeting last Thursday. Maribeth Sears was elected treasurer, and Elizabeth Hall, secretary. “This is an exciting time to be a Democrat,” Bayne said.  “The Presidential campaign on the Republican side is in utter chaos with their front runner being unpalatable to many Republicans and unfathomable to most Democrats. “Our goal is to unite Democrats, Independents and willing Republicans around a national, state and local ticket in November that reflects the values of Darien’s voters through thoughtful and pragmatic leadership.” “I urge Darien’s voters to contact Darien’s Democrats to be a part of the solution to the bitterness that has overwhelmed us all.”
