Jean Anderson Rittenhouse Stouter passed away on April 5, 2020 at the Western Rehabilitation Care Center in Danbury. June 15 would have been the celebration of her 93rd birthday. She was born Jean Sylvia Anderson in Darien and was the eldest daughter of the famed Prohibition Era Darien police officer known as “the Lone Wolf of the Boston Post Road.” June 15, 2020, would have been the celebration of her 93rd birthday. Despite being born legally deaf and suffering from multiple sclerosis, Jean went on to defy all the odds with her indomitable spirit.

Robert “Bob” Rockwell Cole of Westwood, Massachusetts and Little Compton, Rhode Island passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the age of 84. He grew up in Upper Montclair, New Jersey and was the son of both the late John Rockwell Cole and Margaret Buehler Cole. Bob attended Mount Hebron Elementary and Junior High School. He went on to graduate from Phillips Academy in 1954. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance from Brown University in 1958 and from Columbia with an MBA in 1961.

Thomas M. O’Malley, born and raised in Darien, passed away June 6, 2020.He was 54. He was born in Stamford on June 26, 1965 to James and Patricia O’Malley. Tom graduated Darien High School in 1984 where he was an outstanding athlete playing on the football and baseball teams. He went on to play football on a full scholarship at Florida State University, followed by a short time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom then had a career in the financial services and healthcare industry. He is survived by his father, James; daughters, Kelly and Riley; and their mother, Melanie O’Malley; brother, Seamus (Lynn); and sisters, Patricia Bell (John) and Erin Mikos (John).

Robert A. Deverill, a longtime resident of Keene, New Hampshire passed away Saturday June 13, 2020 from complications of COPD with his daughters by his side. He was 74. Born in Stamford on Jan. 22, 1946, he was the middle son of Dorothy Bouton Deverill and William John Deverill III. Robert graduated from Darien High School in 1965 and attended Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts.

Margie “Bunny” Campbell, a former Darien resident, passed away on May 4 at the age of 98. Born in Detroit,, she was the eldest of three children of Margie and William Gilbert Livingston. She attended Connecticut College, graduating in 1943. During World War II, she worked for Remington Arms in Bridgeport. While in college she met her future husband, Stafford Campbell.

Bryan Kirk Wood of Norwalk, formerly of Darien, died Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the age of 58. Bryan had a strong passion for helping others in need. He served for 20 years as a police officer for the Darien Police Department, retiring in 2003. Prior to his service in Darien, Bryan was a part-time police officer and volunteer firefighter in Weston. He held a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven.

Sandra McCutchan Woodworth Campbell, 88, passed away on June 12, 2020 with family at her side and Louis Armstrong singing “What a Wonderful World” in the background. Sandra will be remembered for her love of her husband, and adventure partner of 68 years, Douglas Campbell, who predeceased her in 2018. Sandra and Doug met as teenagers in the 1940s, sailing at the Noroton Yacht Club in Darien, where Sandra’s family ran the Junior Sailing Program. After attending the former Low Heywood School and Northwestern University, Sandra married Doug and they lived in California while Doug was in the Navy. They moved back to Darien in the early 1950s with two young sons and subsequently had two daughters.

Beverly Sciglimpaglia of Orlando, Florida and formerly of Stamford, entered into eternal rest on June 9, 2020 at the age of 79. Beverly was born on Oct. 5, 1940 in Staten Island to the parents of Ken and Eleanor Missall. After graduating from Darien High School, Beverly was employed at North American Van Lines, and later became a sales representative at Estee Lauder. Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Richard Sciglimpaglia; four children, Richard Magalnick (former wife, Diane Solkowski), Mindy Porell (Tom Porell), Patty Magalnick, and Richard Sciglimpaglia II.; four grandchildren Kristine Florio (Chris Florio), Katie Magalnick, Lauren Porell, and Adam Porell; two great grandchildren Briella and Aiden Florio.
