William Sylvester Brill, Jr., formerly of Milford and Darien, passed away on Oct. 23, 2019 of natural causes. He was 83. Born April 14, 1936 in White Plains, New York, he was the son of William S. and Vivian (Hughes) Brill. Mr. Brill graduated from Mamaroneck High School in New York and the State University of New York at Farmingdale.

Roger Sibelius of Grand Junction, Colorado died unexpectedly but peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019 at the age of 82. He was the son of Arthur and Lena (Jane) Sibelius and graduated from Darien High School. He lived in Danbury most of his life and enjoyed golfing at Richter Park and dining at Jim Barbarie’s Restaurant. He also enjoyed socializing with friends and neighbors on Little John Lane in Stamford.

Allen Daniell Haight died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019 of natural causes. He was 90. He was born in Greenwich, graduated from the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey in 1948, received a B.A. from Brown University in 1952, and served in the Army in Korea before getting his M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1961. He lived in Darien for 35 years before moving to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina in 2000 while commuting to Connecticut for work.

Monia E. A. Festo, 76, passed away on Oct. 18, surrounded with the love and comfort of her family, in the Regional Hospice of Danbury. She was the wife of 56 years to Thomas F. Festo Sr., having made their home in Darien for most of her life. She was born in Bridgeport on May 4, 1943, a daughter of the late Francis and Helen (Perkowski) Dziamalek. Monia was self-employed, having owned a consignment shop, “Save & Smile,” for many years in Norwalk, and more recently a home-cleaning service.

Michael Arthur Ludwig Sr. of Weston, beloved husband of Corinne Ludwig, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Oct. 11, 2019 at age 64. He was born on June 17, 1955 in Stamford to the late Frederick and Sharon Ludwig. Michael and his wife were both members of Darien High School, Class of 1974. Their greatest joy was raising their three children together in their hometown until relocating to Ridgefield in 1997.

Samuel D.B. Millar Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 3 in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Born in 1931, Sandy grew up in Montclair, New Jersey, the third child of Samuel Millar and Louise Bonynge. His siblings were brother, Bill (Suzanne Simond) and sisters, Jeanne (John Almquist) and Carol (Peter Forstmann). Throughout his childhood and early adulthood Sandy spent many idyllic summers in New Preston, Connecticut on Lake Waramaug at his grandparents’ home.

“There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains.” Anthony James Cruickshank, affectionately known as Tony C and Papa, left this world on Sept. 6, but his brilliant light continues to shine on all he loved. Born to Robert and Lois Cruickshank, he spent the first four years of his life in India, where his father had been sent to manage the Port of Bombay. Upon returning to the U.S. his family settled in Bronxville, New York but spent many weekends and summers visiting Big Indian, New York. It was there he developed his love for fly fishing, arm wrestling and pranks on tourists, often accompanied by his younger brother and partner in crime, Rob.
