That flawless Frazier or unspoiled spruce may be the perfect tree to celebrate your upcoming holiday, but you certainly don’t want to rock around that Christmas tree when it falls off the roof of your car, says AAA Northeast. — This article is from AAA Northeast. You can fasten that elegant evergreen safely by tying one on: strapping it securely with proper rope or ratchet straps. “There’s an art to transporting your tree so it won’t become a holiday hazard,” said Fran Mayko, AAA Northeast spokeswoman. “Roads are treacherous enough with congestion and wintery weather and a careening conifer certainly will compromise your driving ability and the safety of other road users.”
A recent AAA survey found 44% of Americans who previously purchased live Christmas trees admitted they used unsafe methods to transport them home, such as securing spruces to cars without using roof racks; or placing unsecured pines in beds of pickup trucks.
