Renzo Sergio Corra, 89, of Riverside, CT, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023 at Regional Hospice in Danbury following a short illness.
Renzo Corra, 89, passed away Feb. 10.
He was born in Quero, Italy on July 23, 1933, the son of Pompilio and Amelia (Collavo) Corra.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 67 years, Giulia (Creglia) Corra of Riverside; his son, Lawrence (Anna) of Wilton; a granddaughter, Alexandra (Ariel) of Norwalk; a brother, Corrado of Quero, Italy; and many members of extended family in Italy. He was predeceased by his brothers Gino, Mario, Rino, and Rosalino, all of Italy.
He immigrated to the United States in 1958 and settled in Riverside in 1968. He worked as a chef in many local restaurants, including Café Bagatelle, DaVinci’s, and Pick Wick Arms Hotel in Greenwich, and Harper’s in Darien. He will always be remembered for his love of sweets, espresso, and a glass of wine.
His funeral was held on Feb. 17, with burial at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rock Rimmon Road in Stamford.
