What’s your favorite show on Darien TV79? Do you watch live or on-demand? On cable TV or the web?

— an announcement from Darien TV79

These are among the questions in Darien TV79’s latest survey of its thousands of viewers being conducted now online, here.

“Every two years we like to poll our audience for what they want to see on Darien TV79,” said co-founder and Program Director Jim Cameron.

“We cover as many as 15 different Town meetings each week, so we need our viewers’ feedback on how they watch and when. We’re curious about who’s watching live and who prefers on-demand replay from our DarienTV79.com website.”

Founded in 2007, Darien TV79 is the Town’s government and community television station, broadcasting 24 hours a day via Optimum cable TV (on channel 79), YouTube and Facebook.

Staffed with volunteers and paid camera operators (many of them video students from Norwalk Community College), the station is funded by local grants from the Area Nine Cable Council and Darien Foundation as well as a small operating budget from the Town.

“We hope everyone will take our quick, online survey,” Cameron said, “even if they don’t watch our programming. We’re here to serve Darien residents so we’d love to know their thoughts. When the survey is over, we’ll share the results with everyone.”
