You can help individually by buying some of the items at a Darien supermarket (Palmer’s Market or either of the two Stop and Shops) and dropping it off in a Person-to-Person bin near the exit.

Improvements Underway at DCA’s Four-Acre Bird Sanctuary

Darien Community Association is making improvements in its four-acre bird sanctuary on Middlesex Road, with help from a $18,500 grant from the Darien Foundation.
These include a pondless waterfall for the birds and butterflies, as well as additional trees, benches and equipment.

Halloween in Darien means a haunted house by Darien EMS-Post 53, a “Trunk or Treat” event at the Noroton Presbyterian Church parking lot and the annual Hoot & Howl at Darien Nature Center, all before the frightening night itself.
And there are more events for families nearby. Most events take place on Sunday, Oct. 28. Pick and choose; don’t do the same thing every year, unless your kids really want to.

Almost a year after credit cards were stolen from a vehicle parked at Avalon Darien and used at the Interstate 95 Darien South rest stop, town police extradited and arrested a 34-year-old Boston man accused of the crimes.
