Grab bargains, bring your kids for special attractions and get to know Darien’s shops at the Darien Chamber of Commerce’s annual Sidewalk Sales & Family Fun Days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., this Thursday through Saturday, July 6 to 8.
This annual sales event features merchants exhibiting along the Post Road, but also visit the Goodwives Shopping Center and check out the Noroton Heights Shopping Center.

Many bargains, with discounts of up to 70 percent, are expected to be offered.
A guide to the three day event will be available at the Darien Chamber tent all three days.
There will be a free drawing for prizes connected to purchases made for adults with prizes donated by our local retailers. Information can be found on the Darien Chamber of Commerce website.
Thursday, July 6
Shoppers can stop by the chamber’s tent to get a guide to the events over the three days. There will be a special treasure hunt for adults to win prizes with a list of participating retailers at the Chamber Tent.
Children can have fun with a “How Many Gumballs” special guessing contest at the Chamber tent as well.
The Darien YMCA has announced it will have free guest passes for members and non-members to earn when they stop by the Darien Y’s tent and take a five-minute survey during Darien Sidewalk Sales & Family Fun Days.
The YMCA’s tent will be in front of 1020 Post Road from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Thursday through Saturday. The Y will also have free giveaways, water and information about their stand-up paddle board (SUP) classes.

Shake Shack will have free custard tastings at the Chamber Tent at 12 noon.

Friday, July 7
Face Painter –Ela at the Darien Toy Box (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.),
Face painters from the DEPOT at First County Bank (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.).
In addition, Mr. Bungles with his balloon creations can be found at First County Bank (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
Plus, The Sound Tigers Mascot, Storm (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and an Inflatable Bouncy House will be in the Downtown Area.
Look around for Amazing Andy — our Stiltwalker with his juggling — you won’t be able to miss him!
Enjoy a free Shake Shack custard tasting at the Chamber Tent at 12 noon.
Finally, relax at the end of the day at Grove Street Plaza from 6 to 8:30 p.m. listening to “The Mars Project” Band at the Summer Nights Concert Series.
Saturday, July 8
Free Face Painting by Darien Depot teens at First County Bank (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
A fun Bouncy House can be found next to William Pitt Sotheby’s for children to have some fun.
On Tokeneke Road, families can enjoy a cookie decorating event at SoNo Baking Co. (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and Face Painting by Darien Depot.
Look around for Amazing Andy walking around on stilts and juggling!
Families can find the favorite Face Painter — Ela — at the Darien Toy Box from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Shake Shack will have free Custard tasting at the Chamber Tent at 12 noon.
100 free Popsicles will be given out by the Chamber— get your ticket at the Chamber tent for a Popcentric Gourmet Popsicle.
If you’re hungry, stop by Uncle’s Hot Dog cart!
In Noroton Heights
- If you are in the Noroton Heights Shopping Area, you will find face painting and balloons by the Depot Teens at At Home in the Heights.
- The Darien Fire House will have a Fire Truck and a Darien police officer will be there with a special Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Post 53 will have an ambulance and hands-only CPR instruction near Gofer Ice Cream.
Listen to live music by the “Survivors Swing Band” at Grove Street Plaza from 1 to 3 p.m. (weather permitting).
If you enjoy collectible cars, stroll over to Day Street behind Darien Rowayton Bank to find the 2nd Annual Collectible Car Show from 1 to 4 p.m. Cast your vote for your favorite car for the “People’s Choice” Award.
Have your caricature drawn by Robby Tuttle! Robby will be in front of Darien Rowayton Bank (1001 Post Road) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
