Police: Rhode Island Man, 24, Threatens I-95 Driver by Displaying What Appeared To Be a Regular Gun

A Rhode Island driver displayed what looked like a regular gun to a tow truck driver during a road rage incident on Interstate 95 in Norwalk and Darien on Monday afternoon,  state police said. When troopers stopped the driver at Exit 10 in Darien, he became uncooperative, and police handcuffed him, police said. A search of the man’s car turned up a BB gun which state police described as a “black facsimile firearm.” The truck driver told state police that after the man apparently became angry with him, he drove his car in front of the truck and slowed down to 5 mph on the highway. When the truck driver moved into another lane, the other driver, while wearing a mask, pulled up beside the truck cab and pointed what looked like a gun at him.

Dispute Between Landlord and Tenant Results in a Man’s Arrest on Disorderly Conduct, Threatening Charges

A verbal altercation between a landlord and his tenant was videotaped and witnessed by a third party on April 7, resulting in an arrest on disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening charges, Darien police said. Police gave this account of what happened, including accusations not proven in court:

The landlord and the tenant spoke in a shared common area for rented homes on Kelsey Street. Police were contacted at 5:05 p.m., Sunday, April 7, and the videotape was played for police officers. Police went to the Kelsey Street home and arrested the 57-year-old man, who was released after paying 7% of a $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear April 25 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on a warrant more than a month after he threatened violence against a woman if she didn’t let him drive off in her car. She let him leave, told police about it, and that led to his arrest on Sunday, March 3, police said. Police gave this further account, including accusations not proven in court:

The incident was for a domestic violence incident that occurred on 1/14/2024. Victim reported that she drove with Reese to a business in Darien that morning and that Reese threatened the victim with physical violence when the victim refused to give Reese the car keys. Police: Man, 30, Chases Another Man Down the Street, Threatening to Kill Him

A 30-year-old Catalpa Terrace resident chased another man down that street at about 11:30 p.m. last Thursday, screaming that he was going to kill the victim, Darien police said. Police added this to their account, which includes accusations not proven in court:

The man chasing the victim was “heavily intoxicated,” and had begun acting erratically in the man’s home, the victim told police. He chased the victim when the victim left the home. Police described the situation as a domestic violence incident. When police arrived at 11:37 p.m., the man was sitting in the foyer of the home.
