Established more than 50 years ago by band leader Billy Frenz, Billy & the Showmen has earned their reputation as one of Connecticut’s most enduring Rhythm & Blues bands. Billy & the Showmen deliver hard-driving R&B, Soul, and Funk from the ’60s and ’70s! The band’s repertoire includes the best of James Brown, Rick James, Percy Sledge, the Ohio Players, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Marvin Gaye, Wilson Pickett, Junior Welles, King Floyd, Average White Band, Tower of Power, Buddy Miles, Kool & the Gang, and Otis Redding.

Grammy Award winner Pedro Giraudo has been a prominent figure on the tango scene for well over a decade, performing with the most important interpreters of tango in the United States, and attracting his own following among both tango dancers and music lovers. In 2015, Pedro officially launched a number of his own tango projects, the first of which was his full Pedro Giraudo Tango Orchestra, which debuted at Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing.

They went on to tour through other major venues across the country, including Red Rocks, TD Garden, and The Greek Theaters in both San Francisco and LA. Over the course of their career, they have also brought their live show to audiences in Europe and Australia.

Isabella has earned an impressive list of accomplishments well beyond her years. Mendes has performed with top notch musicians such as Adriano Santos, Itaiguara Brandão, Paul Lieberman, Ali Ryerson, to name a few.

Anthem has appeared with Sister Carol on the Conan O’Brien show & played for The NBC, NBA All Star weekend after party in Washington DC with the Isley Brothers. The band has toured Bermuda, St Croix, Canada, Korea, Japan, Guam, Hawaii, and Kwajalein Island. They’ve also entertained the troops over seas on a month long A.F.E. tour.

Since Low Cut Connie’s debut record Get Out the Lotion (NPR’s Fresh Air Top 10 albums of 2011), they’ve firmly established their reputation as one of the most exciting live shows in the US, with Greg Kot (Sound Opinions / Chicago Tribune) exclaiming they are “the essence of what rock n roll should be” and The New York Times stating, “Low Cut Connie’s word-of-mouth legend is built on live shows like this one.”

Sweat-drenched, piano-pounding songwriter and frontman Adam Weiner’s writing has been described as “Seventies Stones (but dirtier), the New York Dolls (but tighter) and Jerry Lee Lewis (but Westerberg-ier)” (Rolling Stone). Low Cut Connie made unprecedented strides in 2018 as they released their 5th studio album Dirty Pictures (Part 2) via Contender Records. In August 2018, Low Cut Connie made their network television debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers where they performed the rollicking album opener “All These Kids Are Way Too High”. That following month, the band, who can already count Barack Obama, Bruce Springsteen, and Nick Hornby as fans, received a shoutout from Sir Elton John took the stage at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center.

Josh Lovelace, a Knoxville, Tennessee native and member of the Grammy-nominated rock band NEEDTOBREATHE, has been making music his entire life. His grandparents loved folk songs, especially Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie, both of whom wrote songs for children. Lovelace shared that love of folk music and as a young kid, would sing songs and put on shows for his family and friends. That love for music helped inspire him to become a professional musician.
