RESCHEDULED: Westport Volunteer EMS Vehicles on Display at Levitt Pavilion Benefit Concert

A concert SUNDAY night, Sept. 8, featuring physician-musicians will benefit Westport Volunteer Emergency Medical Services, who will be on hand for you to meet and look over their EMS vehicles at the Levitt Pavilion in Westport. The event starts at 7 p.m.

Here’s the Levitt Pavilion’s announcement:

Celebrate and honor the life-saving acts these heroes perform on a daily basis and recognize and remember the sacrifices they make. Westport Volunteer Emergency Medical Services personnel will be on site and vehicles will be on public display.  So come early and enjoy a chance to get to know and thank these courageous individuals in person and get a peek behind the curtain of ambulance work.

New Orleans brass band-meets-Mardi Gras Indian outfit Cha Wa radiates the energy of the city’s street culture. Their Grammy-nominated album “Spyboy” (a nod to frontman J’Wan Boudreaux’s role in the Golden Eagles) is a modern mix of fiery, toe-tapping sounds. Popmatters describes the band as “a grand gumbo of singing, intoxicating rhythms, and deep funk grooves that are impossible to resist.”

Grammy Award winner Pedro Giraudo has been a prominent figure on the tango scene for well over a decade, performing with the most important interpreters of tango in the United States, and attracting his own following among both tango dancers and music lovers. In 2015, Pedro officially launched a number of his own tango projects, the first of which was his full Pedro Giraudo Tango Orchestra, which debuted at Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing.
