Hi Terrie;

As you know, Julie and I now live in Madison and, sadly, no longer represented by Terrie Wood. That said, I continue to follow your efforts in Hartford with admiration for your bi-partisan efforts to improve life in CT. We are life-long Republicans. Julie’s father was a delegate to the 1964 Republican National Convention, an ardent supporter of Berry Goldwater. We were shocked when Trump was nominated and catatonic on election night when he came down that golden escalator.

Terrie brings soundness, sensibility, honesty and ethics to our local government, something that should appeal to all Darien residents regardless of their political affiliation. While media headlines focus on the extraordinary challenges of these times, we might easily inadvertently overlook the distinctive challenges we share as Connecticut residents. Working to engineer a promising path for Connecticut at large, while delivering our voice in Hartford is hard work — addressed effectively — by Terrie Wood, our state representative. A commonsense, collaborative leader who is recognized for her interest in listening and understanding, Terrie brings promise relative to the interests we share in legislation and policy devised in Hartford. Below the current headlines, Terrie brings an undaunted sense of purpose in forging a course that will restore an affordable outlook for our residents and for our businesses. Terrie’s focus on tax policy, behavioral health, education, and our environment, paired with protecting local control of our schools and public planning are vital to protecting the attributes we relish.

Campaign season is often a time for unfortunate behavior to surface … It’s disappointing that conversations on key issues become twisted beyond the truth. Fabrications are made to fit the narrative of the opposition to suit their goals. In a less than two-minute conversation with a constituent while campaigning last weekend, we touched on several topics including the presidency. I did not support Donald Trump in 2016, and I will not support him this year.
