Just in time for flu season, there are various places you can go in and near town to get your flu shots without getting an appointment with your doctor.

In addition to the scheduled Darien Health Department clinics and the Visiting Nurse Association flu clinic Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Darien Library, you can schedule a flu shot at Walgreens, 148 Heights Road, here; or call CVS in Darien at 203-655-6335 to get your flu shot there.

All Vaccine is preservative free & available to those over three (3) years old.

High dose vaccine for seniors is available.

The cost of flu vaccine is $30, payable by check, cash or ConnectiCare.

We accept traditional Medicare Part B ONLY and do not participate with any Medicare Advantage Plans.

To get your flu shot, come to one of the department’s clinics where no appointment is needed:

Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County

From 1 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Darien Library, the Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County flu clinic is first-come, first-served. Open to anyone age 4+. Anyone under age 18, must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

The cost of the vaccine is $50. The nurses will bill directly to Medicare Part B, Aetna, Anthem, Connecticare, Harvard Pilgrim, Multi Plan or Wellcare. Or payable by cash or check.

High-dose vaccine is available for those age 65 and over. The cost is $70.

Please bring your insurance card and wear short sleeves or sleeves that can be easily rolled up.
