An anouncement from YWCA Darien/Norwalk:

YW Summer Fun 2015 and Toddler Time 2015-2016 2-year old programs are open to the public and have limited spaces available. The Summer Fun program, which is a 2-hour drop-off enrichment program, meets through August 2015. It is a summertime spin-off of the YW’s Toddler Time program, which runs during the school year from September through May.

The toddler programs consist of free-play, story and music time, an art project, outdoor play and snack in a caring, nurturing setting. Children will learn new songs, create fun works of art, play outside and make new friends in a class of up to eight students led by two enthusiastic and caring teachers.

Families can enroll their toddlers for 1, 2, or 3 days per week. To be eligible, children must turn 2 before the start of the program. Registration forms are available by contacting the YW at (203) 655-2535 or emailing membership@ywcadariennorwalk.org.

Summer vacation arts and crafts workshop classes for children, ages 5 through 10 are on Mondays through Thursdays from June 22 through June 25, June 29 through July 2, and from August 3 through August 6. Classes will run from 9:30 to noon and children can be registered for any number of days each week. These ‘Use, Reuse, Recycle’ workshop classes will feature a project made with recycled materials each day including many Fourth of July themed projects.

Rowana Shepard, who has a Dutch College Degree in Art and has been teaching art for more than fifteen years, will run the classes. Her experience includes teaching ceramics, sculpting, painting and recycled art at an after school program in New York City. Fee per class is $50 for YW members, $55 for non-members. Children should bring their own nut-free snacks. Spaces are limited; registration is online at ywcadariennorwalk.org. For more information, please call (203) 655-2535.
