Linda Bailey Searle died at her home in Delray Beach, Florida on Jan. 16, 2019, at age 93. Born March 14,1925 in East Orange, NJ to Clifford Sherwood Bailey and Ellen Laird Bailey, Linda grew up in Darien and New Canaan. She graduated from The Ethel Walker School and Finch College. In June 1945, Linda married John “Jack” Endicott Searle, Jr., who was in the Army Air Corps.

Deborah (Debby) Anne Blodget Tait, 84, of Montpelier, Vermont (formerly of Norfolk, Connecticut) died at home on Feb. 8, with her family around her. She was the beloved wife of Colin Condie Tait for 63 years. Debby, the daughter of Barbara Barnes and Donald McKelvey Blodget, was born in New York City on April 10, 1934, the youngest of four children. She grew up in Darien and graduated from the George School in Newtown, Pennsylvania in 1952.

Daniel Lagonigro, 83, of Darien passed away peacefully at Stamford Hospital on Feb. 15, surrounded by his loving family. Daniel was born in Port Chester, New York on April 7, 1935 to Paul Lagonigro and Maria Rosario Lagonigro. As a boy, Daniel was an avid Yankee fan, playing baseball and dreaming of becoming a professional ball player. At an early age, Daniel took piano and accordion lessons.

Born in 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Ruth Blackledge, and sister of Barbara. She was a graduate of the University of Connecticut and Darien High School.

Muriel “Yoy” Quimby, 95, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10 at the Overlook Masonic Skilled Nursing Facility in Charlton surrounded by family and others who loved and cared for her. Born in Flushing, Queens to Grace and Forrest Smith, Yoy lived in Scarsdale, New York, Darien, Bedford, New Hampshire, Holden, Massachusetts and Sarasota, Florida before moving to Overlook with her husband in 2007. Yoy graduated from Scarsdale High School and earned a B.A. from Denison University. She was the executive director for the Scarsdale, New York Girl Scout Council, the director of adult education and volunteer coordinator for Wachusett Regional High School in Holden and the director of the Challenge Program for the Women’s Resource Center in Sarasota.

Joy Sutton Collins, of Darien, Connecticut; Tierra Verde, Florida; and Bayville, Maine, died February 5, 2019, in Stamford, Connecticut, after a brief struggle with pancreatic cancer. She was 77. Collins was born to the late Bettina Pierce Sutton and David Sutton Jr. on May 9, 1941, in Lancaster, Massachusetts. The eldest of five, she grew up in Lancaster and graduated from the Northfield School in the class of 1959. She attended Tufts University, where she graduated in 1963 with a bachelor’s degree in government.

Elisabeth Perry (Day) Augustyn passed away peacefully on Jan. 19 at Branford Hills Health Center after a long illness. Elisabeth was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1936, to Walter Merton and Elisabeth (DuMond) Perry and was raised in Darien. She was a graduate of the Low Heywood School and attended Smith College and the Yale School of Music. For many years Elisabeth ran a successful piano instruction studio in Darien which included pre-school music education classes modeled on the pedagogy of Maria Montessori.

Johanna Morris Brennan, 57, of Darien passed away peacefully at her home on Feb. 12. She was born in Boston and was the daughter of Joan Duggan Morris and Philip Paul Morris. In addition to her parents, Johanna is survived by her beloved husband, Marty, and adored children, Martin (22) and Henry (19), her sister Carole Sessine (Michael) of Pembroke, Massachusetts and aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews and the extended Brennan family.  Johanna was pre-deceased by her brother Philip. Johanna graduated from Stonehill College with a degree in psychology.  She had an exciting career as a forerunner for women on Wall Street in the 1980s and 90s where she excelled in fixed income sales.
