An intoxicated driver traveling west on the Post Road swerved into the eastbound traffic lane a little after 8:42 p.m., Friday, according to Darien police who were following him. Police gave this further account of the matter, including accusations not proven in court:

At 8:42, police were called and told a silver BMW was swerving toward oncoming traffic on Hecker Avenue and had also almost hit a guardrail. After briefly following the car on the Post Road, police also saw it swerving into the oncoming traffic lane and stopped it. The driver, Miguel Lopez, 34, of Stamford, told police he was drinking earlier. An officer noticed that Lopez seemed confused when asked simple questions about the vehicle’s documents.

A 20-year-old Darien woman had been drinking before her vehicle rolled over in the front yard of her home, police said. Police did not say whether she or her passenger were injured, although they said the driver didn’t appear to be. Darien police gave this further account of what happened, including accusations not proven in court:

Police were called at 7:26 p.m. by someone reporting that the vehicle had rolled over at 6 Canoe Trail, in the Tokeneke section of town. When they spoke to the driver, Natalie Harper, 20, of that address, she became “increasingly upset and incoherent,” according to the police announcement. The passenger told police that he or she and Harper had been drinking alcohol earlier that morning.

A car’s bumper ended up between headstones and the driver ended up in a hospital after a one-car crash at St. John’s Cemetery on Oct. 7, police said. The driver, 23, was later released from the hospital, arrested on a DUI charge and will end up in court. Darien police gave this account of what happened, including accusations not proven in court:

Ulloa Diaz of Sylvan Knoll Road in the Cove section of Stamford was behind the wheel of a Honda Civic, driving on Hoyt Street around midnight on Tuesday to Wednesday, Oct.

A 55-year-old driver got into a traffic accident at about 8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 28, on Hoyt Street, sending another driver to the hospital, police said. Police gave this account of what happened, including accusations not proven in court:

Richard Chapman of Stamford was driving south on Hoyt Street near Edmond Street when his vehicle struck the back of another one. Noroton Heights Fire Department and Darien EMS-Post 53 went to the scene, and the other driver was taken to a hospital. Chapman, of Broad Street in Stamford, told police both that he didn’t know what happened and didn’t know where he lived, but that he was headed home.

A 26-year-old intoxicated driver crossed into the oncoming traffic lane twice on the the Post Road and Birch Road at 1:24 a.m. on Friday, Darien police said. Police described the incident with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

The driver, a Harrison, Maine resident, was seen by an officer on patrol when she was making two turns. Each time, she drove into the oncoming traffic lane. The officer stopped the vehicle as it turned onto Birch Road. The officer saw that the driver had glassy, dilated eyes and the smell of alcohol coming from her.

The driver who caused a two-vehicle accident on Saturday, June 25 was too drunk to stand up without supporting himself against his own car, according to police. Darien police gave this account of the incident, including accusations not proven in court:

Scott Tracey, then 53, was driving either on the Post Road near Bertucci’s restaurant at 54 Post Road or in the restaurant parking lot (the announcement didn’t specify) and following a vehicle in front of him too closely when his vehicle struck the other one. When the officer who went to the scene asked Tracey for his insurance card, the driver couldn’t find it. Police determined that Tracey’s vehicle registration had been suspended due to lack of insurance. The driver of the other vehicle told the officer that Tracey might be intoxicated “due to his actions after the impact,” according to the announcement, which didn’t provide details about those actions.

A 19-year-old resident of Revere Road was intoxicated when he drove a Mini Cooper onto a stone wall at the intersection of Middlesex Road and Ox Ridge Lane, then got into an altercation with bystanders, according to Darien police. Police gave this account, including accusations not proven in court:

Police, who were called to the intersection at 6:30 p.m., were also told that the driver tried to leave the scene. The driver, Jack Brown, slurred his words and couldn’t stand up without help. Police saw that the pupils of his eyes were constricted and they smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the car. He couldn’t adequately perform field sobriety tests.

A 33-year-old woman was intoxicated when her car ran off the Post Road and crashed near Exit 11, Darien police said. Police did not describe the extent of her injuries, if any, in the Jan. 27 accident, but a Darien EMS-Post 53 ambulance went to the scene, where she was treated, and she was taken to Norwalk Hospital, police said. Police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

At 1:35 a.m., a police was officer helping a driver in a minor car accident on the Post Road near its intersection with Old Kings Highway North. The officer saw a small car headed east (toward Norwalk) on the Post Road and at a high speed when it passed him at an unsafe distance.
