Responding to a report of a driver asleep behind the wheel at 1:56 a.m., Saturday, May 27, Darien police say they found just that: The man was sleeping, the vehicle was running.

Yolvi Moreno , 39, was charged May 27 with driving under the influence.
Police gave this account of the incident, including accusations not proven in court:

One of the officers who approached the vehicle, stopped near 21 Tokeneke Road in downtown Darien, said a strong odor of alcohol could be smelled coming from the inside of the car and on the driver’s breath.
The driver, Yolvi Moreno of Oaklawn Avenue in Stamdford, agreed to take field sobriety tests, which he didn’t perform to standard. He was charged with driving under the influence.
At Darien Police Headquarters, he refused to take breathalyzer tests. He was later released after paying 10% of his $250 bond. He is scheduled to appear June 6 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
