The acclaimed Los-Angeles-based group performs original “world guitar” compositions, featuring incredible guitar-playing across a variety of genres: Latin, Middle-Eastern, and Celtic grooves. Formed in 1999, the group has 10 CD’s and 2 DVD’s available internationally, variously hitting the Billboard, CMJ, NAV, and Amazon.com charts. Averaging over 150 shows a year since 2000, INCENDIO’s live performance is an explosive improvisatory journey, garnering tremendous audience response in such diverse and esteemed venues as the Strawberry Music Festival in Yosemite, the Sundance Film Festival, National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, California World Festival, MusikFest, and many more across the U.S.

Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet performs from 8 to 9:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 5 at the Levitt Pavilion in Westport. Here’s the announcement from Levitt Pavilion:

Originally from Córdoba Argentina, Pedro Giraudo moved to New York City in 1996. Since then he has become a highly versatile bassist, composer and arranger, performing in a wide variety of musical projects

In 2014, Pedro played bass on Ruben Blades’ CD “Tangos” which won two Grammys Awards (Best Tango Album and Best Latin Pop). Pedro has also been the musical director of Mariela Franganillo’s Companyies, “Tango Connection” and “Tango Recuerdo.”

He has performed with the most prominent tango ensembles in the United States, including “Forever Tango,” Hector Del Curto’s “Eternal Tango,” Fernando Otero’s “X-Tango,” and Daniel Binelli’s “Tango Metropolis.”

He was the bassist and longtime collaborator with the great, late tango pianist Octavio Brunetti.

“Low Cut Connie” performs Friday night from 8 to 9:30 p.m., Friday, July 27 at the Levitt Pavilion in Westport. You can catch them right before they head to the Newport Folk Festival.  
Since Low Cut Connie’s debut record Get Out the Lotion (NPR’s Fresh Air Top 10 albums of 2011), they’ve firmly established their reputation as one of the most exciting live shows in the U.S., with Greg Kot (Sound Opinions / Chicago Tribune) exclaiming they are “the essence of what rock n roll should be” and the New York Times stating “The group’s live show is a strange phenomenon.”
Adam Weiner’s $100 junker piano, named Shondra, is the backbone of their boogie strain of rock n roll. Recently adding longtime Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings member Saundra Williams, the result is what Rolling Stone describes as “a mix of Seventies Stones (but dirtier), the New York Dolls (but tighter) and Jerry Lee Lewis (but Westerberg-ier)…with an extra sense of bare-knuckled grit and sonic thwump.”

‘Goza’ Performs Latin American, Spanish Music at Levitt Pavilion Friday Night

Goza will perform music and dance rhythms from Latin America, Brazil and Spain starting at 8 p.m., Friday night, July 20 at the Levitt Pavilion in Westport. The outdoor concert is free. Goza (Spanish for “Joy”) performs engaging and sultry Latin music in an ensemble comprised of Connecticut musicians on guitar, violin, horns, Latin percussion and beautiful, romantic vocals.  

The band plays samba, salsa, bachata, rumba, cha-cha, cumbia, flamenco, tango, and bolero. Their covers include many Latin standards plus music of Jobim, Tito Puente, Gipsy Kings, Buena Vista, Selena, Beatles, Santana, Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison, Guns & Roses and many originals.

Hopalong Andrew Plays Children’s Concert at Levitt Pavilion

Hear the down-home sounds of Hopalong Andrew and his crackerjack band of world-class Americana musicians as they playfully adapt traditional folk songs and classic country songs to reflect city life for urban cowpokes. Hopalong Andrew plays a children’s concert at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 11  as part of the Melissa & Doug Children’s Series at the Levitt Pavilion in Westport. Clap and stomp with the fiddle, banjo, pedal steel, harmonica, and contagious harmonies that feature songs in honor of Earth Day. Former NYC Park Ranger Hopalong Andrew will share tunes such as “The Yodeling Ranger of Central Park,” “Outside” (to the tune of Rawhide,) and many other golden melodies that will have you swinging your partner in celebration of nature.

Under the direction of Sal LaRusso, former director of bands for Weston High School, the 60-piece group performs a wide variety of music including concert band compositions, show tunes, marches, pop, and classical. Reggae is what they do, but this versatile band also mixes it up with best of them from jazz to calypso to reggae and a little crossover to guarantee and evening of fun. The road they have traveled is paved with legendary reggae music of the past which influences what they do today. The lawn and concession areas are open to the public one hour before show-time. The facility is closed to public during load-in and sound-check. Picnics are welcome.
