School District Posts Revised School Bus Route Schedules

After a number of bus stops were dropped in the initial Darien school bus route schedules posted late last week, the school district has added them back and posted the first revised schedules. This is still a work in progress — more schedule changes are expected to mean more revisions Tuesday and possibly Wednesday or even Thursday morning. The revisions were posted prominently on the district website’s home page — purportedly at 6 p.m., Monday (although we checked and didn’t see them at that time). Here’s what the post said, including links to the revised schedules for buses to each school:

Route times are estimated and will vary particularly in the beginning of the school year, during inclement weather and traffic congestion on I-95. Routes are updated as changes to the routes continue.  Please use the links below to view the latest bus routes per school.

Update 8:53 p.m.:

Despite problems with school bus stops being left off some bus route schedules, the first day of school in Darien was an exciting, happy day for students, teachers and staff, new Superintendent of Schools Dan Brenner said. “That youthful excitement that thrills people the first day — there’s nothing like it,” he said. Brenner said he visited every school. At Royle School the “Parade of Learners” traditionally takes place, with students marching into school in a line with parents standing on either side and teachers leading the way. “This day was marked by a great deal of emotion,” he said.
