A 47-year-old Brooklyn, New York man was trying to open a bank account claiming to be another person and provided bank employees with identification documents with that person’s name on them — a person who already had an account at the bank, Darien police said. Police gave this further account, including accusations not proven in court:

While the man was trying to get the new account, a bank employee called police, which led to the man’s arrest. Officers arrived at the bank at 12:58 p.m. on Friday, April 10 and spoke to the man, Wesley Gabriel of East 103rd St. in Brooklyn. Gabriel refused to give police his name or answer any questions, but the man was later identified (police didn’t say how).
