A 26-year-old man was charged with driving while under the influence after he struck a stone wall and a parked Lexus on Pratt Island, Darien police said.

Police arrived at the scene at about 9:48 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 5. Ramiro Narvaez had been driving a BMW X3. Police did not say he was injured in the accident.

Narvaez admitted that he had been drinking, and he failed to adequately perform field sobriety tests. He was arrested on a charge of driving while under the influence.

At Darien Police Headquarters, breathalyzer test results showed him with a blood alcohol content of 0.2398 (almost three times the legal limit of 0.08) and 0.2345.

Narvaez of Barnstable Lane in Stamford, was released on a $200 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear Sept. 27 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
