Pamela James, 85, of Darien passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Nov. 14.
She was born on June 29, 1932 in Bristol, England and was the daughter of John and Ellen May Shopland. Pamela is predeceased by son, John Oliver James; and a brother Graham Shopland.
Pamela is survived by her loving son, Paul James, and his wife, Jane, of Stamford; four adoring grandchildren: Melissa Warga and her husband, Andrew, of Darien; Scott James of Stamford; Brian James and his wife, Momoko, of Yokosuka, Japan; and Theodore James of Pennsylvania; as well as three great-grandchildren: Emma, Isabella and James Warga of Darien; many loving nieces and nephews from across the pond in Bristol, England.

Pamela had a passion for gardening, golf, pool and music. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren have fond memories of their Nana teaching them how to play pool, cribbage and pingpong. She was always an active positive role model to them.
Pamela had a host of friends who adored her and enjoyed her energy even at 85. She will be sorely missed by her loving family and friends.
The family has entrusted a memorial service to The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 at Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A later memorial service there will be private.
