Noroton Avenue between Middlesex Road and Elm Street will be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, Aug. 1 to 5. Detour through Edgerton Street instead.
Darien police announced the road closure on Sunday. Here’s the announcement:
The Darien Police Department is advising motorists of a required daily roadway closure scheduled to start Monday, Aug. 1 and be completed on Friday, August 5, 2016.
Noroton Avenue, between West Elm Street and Middlesex Road, will be closed daily between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. A posted detour will be in place advising motorists to use Edgerton Street as a detour.
The daily roadway closure will allow multiple construction crews to work in this stretch of Noroton Avenue installing new water services.
Absent a roadway closure, motorists would be facing up to 10-minute delays to move through the area, and this portion of the project would take three weeks. This closure will allow a condensed work time of five working days.
Please drive safely and consider alternate routes while traveling in this area. The Darien Police Department thanks you in advance for your patience.
