Lois Campbell obit 2018

Lois Campbell passed away on Aug. 25.

Born in 1926 to George and Nellie Thompson, Lois spent her childhood and early years in Concrete, WA. She relocated with her parents to Seattle, where she graduated from Queen Anne High School and attended Pacific Lutheran University.

She married Lloyd Campbell, originally from Rockport, WA, in September of 1944, and they moved shortly thereafter to Edmonds, WA, where they co-owned and operated the Skiff Tavern.

Lois raised her family in Granite Falls, WA and in 1964 began working outside the home, spending 22 years as assistant to the executive director of Snohomish County Airport. When Lois retired she relocated to Kauai, HI, where she lived until 2005.

_______________

She lived with Bruce and his wife, Elfie in Laguna Woods, CA and in Darien before returning to Kauai. In 2012 she resettled in Skagit County to be near Doug and daughter-in-law, Billie.

Lois retained her independent spirit right to the end, ironically responding when asked how she was with her signature phrase “Still mean and ornery, like always!” She led a full life and it was her time, but she leaves a hole in the sky for all of us.
