Joseph Bruce Magliari “Joe”, 82, passed away at home in Darien on Feb. 26, 2025.

Joseph Magliari, 82, passed away on Feb. 26.
Joe was born in Stamford on October 31, 1942, son of the late Joseph and Margaret (DeCostanzo) Magliari.
Joe proudly grew up on Stamford’s West Side and was a graduate of Stamford High School (‘60) then Wright Technical School (’61) and spent six years serving in the National Guard.
After graduation Joe took to master his trade and became a well-respected barber in Wilton, retiring as owner/operator of Village Barber Shop in 2014 after 52 years. He took great pride in having many generations of Wilton families in his chair and for being a big part of the community.
In his early years, Joe could be found teaching his daughters to ski on the slopes of Vermont or fiercely competing at his weekly racquetball game at the Darien YMCA. Later in life, he was happiest gardening, spending time with family and at monthly dinners with lifelong West Side friends.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Genevieve (Spaeth) Magliari, daughters Danielle (John) Polcer and Lauren, brothers Richard and Frank, many nieces and nephews and granddaughter, Charlotte Polcer.
He was predeceased by his brother, Samuel, and sister, Theresa.
His wake and funeral were held in March, and his burial followed at St. John’s Cemetery, 25 Camp Ave., Darien.
Memorial contributions can be made to Darien EMS – Post 53.
