Arrest photo of Eric Gaucher, 47, of Norwalk, charged with four counts of voyeurism with malice, a felony.

Police received a report on Jan. 23 that the camera was discovered in a business’ bathroom, concealed beneath the sink. An investigation revealed that the camera had been there since the day before. Police did not say whether the establishment was a store or other business

An investigation led police to arrest Eric Gaucher, 47, of Norwalk. He wasn’t an employee of the business, which police did not identify.

The camera contained videos showing unsuspecting people using the restroom, along with a deleted segment that clearly identified the suspect. With no faces shown of the unsuspecting victims, police couldn’t identify any of them.

Police applied for and a judge approved an arrest warrant for Gaucher, who lives on Lowe Street in Norwalk. He is charged with four counts of voyerism with malice, a felony. On April 2, Gaucher turned himself in at Darien Police Headquarters, where he was arrested. He posted a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear April 21 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
