Conventional obituaries are simply too impersonal for Glenn Hoffman’s memory. He didn’t live in B&W column-inches, but in 3-D TECHNICOLOR. So that is how he will be celebrated.
Following Glenn’s own respectful disregard for convention, instead of reading an abridged narrative here, you are all warmly invited to visit his new WWW.GWHOFFMAN.LIFE Living Memorial website for a full tribute and remembrance of this phenomenal man!
For now, suffice to sadly say we lost our remarkable Glenn on Christmas Day, 2023. He was at home on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, surrounded by his immediate family. He was at genuine, well-deserved peace.
Glenn leaves his family and friends heartbroken, notably here, his son Glenn W. Hoffman II (Patricia), daughter Allison Ball (Geoff), our granddaughters Samantha, Anna, Courtney, and grandson Ryan, all from Darien. His brother, Cliff Hoffman (Nancy), from Atlanta, plus countless other much loved immediate and extended family members across the country. And while he left me too, Karen, his wife, he didn’t really, as I’ll forever carry on his spirit and zest for life within me.

There will be a Memorial Service to celebrate Glenn’s life at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 1864 Post Rd., Darien, on Saturday, May 4 at 10 a.m. This will be followed by an informal gathering at the Anderson Youth Center, on the church campus.
In lieu of flowers or other remembrances, donations may be made to The Glenn W. Hoffman Innovation & Creativity Scholarship, an award being established by his family to carry on Glenn’s legacy of out-of-the box, convention-busting creativity.
It will be given to a deserving Darien High School senior, pursuing a BFA degree to help realize Glenn’s same dream of a career in the visual arts. The scholarship will be a part of the Darien Community Association’s “Scholarship 2024 Campaign.”
