Dr. Nicole Matar, pain management physician at the Hospital for Special Surgery in White Plains, New York, will discuss the causes of back pain and effective strategies to relieve and prevent it.
Matar will speak at the Darien Senior Center starting at 12:45 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23. Learn posture tips, ergonomic adjustments, and targeted exercises to improve spinal health and overall well-being, especially for older adults.
Attendance at the lecture is free. The Senior Center is located in Mather Center, accessible from the lower parking lot in the front of Darien Town Hall.

Chef Judi prepares delicious and nutritious lunches daily for members at the Mather Center. The Café opens at 11:45 a.m., with lunch served promptly at 12 noon.
Reservations are required one week in advance by calling Darien Senior Programs Monday–Wednesday, between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. The menu is available at www.darienct.gov or at the information desk. Cost: $5 per meal — exact cash or check only (payable to DSP or Darien Senior Programs). Advance payment is not accepted.
