Elisabetta Josephina Wolf, 89, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016 at the Long Ridge Post Acute Care of Stamford.
The funeral for Elisabetta Wolf, 89, was scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday.
She was born in Stamford on Oct. 29, 1926 to the late Joseph and Sylvia Sylvestre Lorenti. Elisabetta worked at the United Methodist Church Nursery School as a child care provider, as well as secretarial work, bookkeeping and also a CNA.
She was a graduate of Stamford High School and attended Short’s Business School for two years. She was involved at the Darien Senior Center, Waveny Day Care Program and Norwalk American Legion.
She enjoyed ice skating, physical fitness, drive-in-movies, especially watching Turner Classic Movies and various hobbies including cooking, Country Western dancing and sewing, where she had worked in her father’s tailor and dry-cleaning shop, Lorenti’s of Darien. Elisabetta practiced Catholicism and had attended the Calvary Baptist Church for the past 12 years.

She is survived by her loving children, Donna Marie Tarzia of Darien and Nicola Tarzia of Stamford, as well as two grandchildren Lisa Wagner, Jamie Vadeboncoeur, two great grandchildren Holly and Andrew Wagner and one great great granddaughter Sierriah Marie Wagner.
Besides her parents, Elisabetta was predeceased by her husband Paul S. Wolf, Sr., her son Lawrence J. Tarzia, Jr., two sisters Yolanda Janicki, Sylvia Rodriguez and three brothers John, Joseph and Umberto “Al” Lorenti.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. Officiating will be Pastor Chad Wade and Pastor Landon Reeser. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien. Visiting hours were Monday at the funeral home.
