The Darien Community Association has appointed Erin Noonan as its new executive director. Ms. Noonan succeeds Amy Bell, who stepped down in June after 11 years of dedicated service to the organization.

— an announcement from the DCA

“Noonan is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in the development of business and brand strategies, digital and communication plans, and integrated campaigns for some of the world’s most recognized and most well-loved brands,” the DCA announcement said. Those brands include Nike, ESPN, American Express and Pepsi.

Erin Noonan’s first day as DCA director will be Aug. 15, the organization announced.

A long-time resident of Darien, Noonan has been “a tireless community volunteer,” the announcement said. Noonan’s volunteering with local organizations includes work Person to Person, OPUS, the Ox Ridge PTO, the RTM, and her local church preschool.

Since September 2022, she and her family have been “chasing the sun” on an around-the-world adventure — a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see and experience the world.

“We believe that Erin embodies the values of the DCA and will bring leadership and strategic insights to the important work we will do together to bring the DCA into the future,” said Caroline Burke and Wanda Forlivio, co-presidents of the Board of Directors and co-chairs of the search committee.

“We are confident she will provide the strong leadership and vision the DCA needs to move into the future,” they said.

The DCA worked with The Strategy Group, a Darien-based consulting firm, throughout its search. Noonan will begin with the DCA on Aug. 15.
