Magical Music for Life Foundation is a New Canaan-based nonprofit founded in 1999 to develop and produce a wide range of musical projects that provide a positive approach to everyday life for young children and their families.

The MMFL songs, shows, and singing groups not only entertain, but also give the audience positive, inspirational, and educational messages. Many of MMFL’s messages focus on encouraging individualism, thwarting bullying, bolstering self-esteem, promoting friendship, and teaching important everyday skills for children with and without special needs through the power of music.

Some of the songs are designed to encourage an ongoing conversation between children and their parents as children begin to deal with life’s more challenging issues. Their educational music has been written with the help of educational specialists so that it will meet the varying special needs of their audience. All of MMFL’s projects are intended to reach out and impact the lives of children and their families in a positive way.

As a further way to reinforce self-confidence and self-esteem, each of these projects is designed to enable children to participate with professionals in the performance and/or recording of these songs and productions.

MMFL’s projects offer talented young singers in New Canaan, Darien and the tri-state area the opportunity to use their talents to help others; MMFL is a participant in the President’s Volunteer Service Award program.

Over the last fifteen years Magical Music for Life has produced and continues to produce a wide variety of musical projects.

MMFL’s touring shows (Two Little Snowflakes, A Day in the Life of a Child: Musical Revue, The Adventures of Zak, and Russell, the Hermit Crab) and singing groups have performed MMFL’s lighthearted but powerful musicals, as well as repertoire of our songs, to children and family members at such venues as professional theaters, the White House, Tribeca Film Festival, United Nations, schools, libraries, Boys & Girls Clubs, national events, fundraisers, and children’s hospitals throughout the northeast and beyond.

MMFL has written songs for several national well-known charities and has a library of songs for children with autism and special needs.

Annually, MMFL produces TUNES IN TIMES SQUARE, an all-day sing-a-thon held in Times Square in New York City the first weekend in May, where amateur youth and Broadway performers/groups are invited to participate and raise money to produce MMFL’s songs for children with special needs.
