Magical Music for Life Foundation is holding its 6th annual “Tunes in Times Square” free benefit concert 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 7 on Broadway between 46th & 47th Streets in Times Square. Talented children and groups from six states will come together to share the same stage with over 50 Broadway performers from most of the current shows and many past shows. This year there will be local singers, The Studio, New Canaan Dance Academy, and the Magical Music singing groups representing Fairfield County in support of this event. Some of the highlights for the day in addition to the Broadway performances include: performance by A Bronx Tale, excerpts from The Adventures of Zak, and Mary Poppins’ “Janes” and “Michaels” teaching the audience the choreography for “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”
May is water safety month and with drowning being a major cause of death and injury for young children, and Magical Music is excited to debut some of their new water songs at this May event in Times Square. The goal of this year’s concert is to raise financial support to complete production of a new original album of songs for water safety applicable to children with and without specials needs, awareness of their music, and funds to continue their community outreach and performance of their musical written especially for children with autism and other special needs.
