Someone took a package from the doorstep of a house on Hoyt Street within about 15 minutes after a resident inside heard the delivery, Darien police were told.
The incident happened on Monday, Aug. 31 in the “100 block” (100 to 199) on Hoyt Street sometime between 4:25 and 4:40 p.m.
The resident noticed the time that she heard someone at the door and when she opened the door, looking for her package, and when police asked the delivery company, it confirmed that a package had been delivered at the time the woman remembered.
The total value of the package was $39.03 in cosmetics from Drugstore.com.
Police spoke with neighbors and tried to check to see if perhaps the package had been delivered to the wrong house, but no further information was found.
Recently in the same neighborhood in the past few weeks there was a larceny from a home as well as a burglary of a house (in which nothing was known to have been taken).
