Vincent Anthony Rajczewski of Darien, the husband of Town Clerk Donna Rajczewski, died peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, March 25.

The funeral for Vincent Rajczewski will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 2.

Vince was born Oct. 11, 1942 in Albany, NY, to Stanley and Sophie Rajczewski. A sister, Claudia (Piotroski, of Katy, Texas), arrived 16 months later. The family moved to Connecticut and welcomed brother Stanley Jr. (“Butch”, of Oxford, Conn.).

Vince played football for and graduated from Fairfield Prep before entering the Army. After an honorable discharge, Vince returned to work at Pitney Bowes, where he met Donna Doolittle.

Vince and Donna were married July 12, 1969 and watched the Apollo 11 moon landing during their honeymoon in Bermuda. Daughters Lee Richardson, of Burlington, NC and Dana Turton, of Richmond, VA completed their family. He loved his girls dearly and was so excited to welcome Lee and husband Mike’s daughter Ellie, and Dana and husband Shakir’s daughter Sloane.

Prior to his retirement from work as a general contractor, Vince owned and operated Tools, Inc. in Stamford.

Vince was one of a kind and will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 2 at the First Congregational Church of Darien, 14 Brookside Road.
