A jacket was the only item reported stolen overnight Jan. 10 to 11 from unlocked vehicles parked outside three homes on Five Mile River Road, according to police.

Darien police received three reports on Tuesday, Jan. 11 about vehicles entered overnight on the Tokeneke street.

One resident told police that at 12 midnight he saw the inside lights on in his 2021 Ford, 2016 Range Rover and 2021 Dodge.

He told police that his home surveillance video camera showed someone entering the vehicles with a flashlight on, but the video recordings didn’t show the gender or clothing of the suspect. Nothing was reported missing from those vehicles.

The vehicle where the jacket was stolen was a 2017 Mini Cooper. The black, Canada Goose brand jacket was found in a neighbor’s yard.

A third resident on the road told police he found the glove compartment open in his 2019 Dodge that Tuesday morning. He didn’t find anything missing.

Police don’t appear to have had any reports of any thieves entering any locked vehicles, either on that street or anywhere else in town.
