Credit Card, Checkbook Stolen from Unlocked Car at Cherry Lawn Park

A woman who left her purse in her unlocked car at Cherry Lawn Park on Tuesday, Aug. 23  told police that the checkbook and credit cards inside it were stolen. The woman told police she was away from the vehicle for about an hour, and when she returned to it, she didn’t realize anything was missing. But later that day she found that her credit card had been used at Best Buy. Police are continuing to investigate the matter.

Laptop and iPad Stolen From Vehicle Left Unlocked for 20 Minutes Downtown

When a man got back in his vehicle after leaving it parked downtown for 20 minutes, he found that the glove compartment was open. He also noticed that his backpack was missing, along with the iPad and laptop that were in it. Darien police said the man told them he left the car, unlocked, at 8:55 p.m. and returned to it at 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16. Police said the vehicle was parked in the “Tilly Parking Lot” and also gave the address as 4 West Ave.
