Put Food Donations Next to Your Mailbox for This Year’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

Help get food to people in the Darien area by letting Post Office workers pick it up beside your mailbox May 11 in this year’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. The event, organized by Person to Person (P2P) and the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), takes place on Saturday, May 11, and Darien residents will be receiving grocery bags from their letter carriers on Friday, May 3 to hold your food donations. Leave your food donations by your mailbox by 9 a.m. Your letter carrier and food drive volunteers will pick up and deliver your donation to P2P; or drop off your food donation to P2P Darien, 1864 Post Road, between 12 noon to 4 p.m.
This collaborative effort between all three P2P food pantries and local post offices makes it easy for residents of lower Fairfield County to help restock the P2P pantries. Food insecurity continues to be a significant challenge in Connecticut, affecting approximately 13% of residents who struggle to access sufficient and nutritious food.
