Remains of Miniature Pinscher Found — Was Missing in Northern Darien Since Early December

The body of Rachel, a miniature pinscher missing from a home at Hollow Tree Ridge and Crooked Mile roads since Dec. 3, was found on Saturday by a neighbor on Sherry Lane, about 1,400 feet to the north, the dog’s owner said. Rachel

“We feel blessed to have her body returned home,” Paula Nusslein said in an email. “I know many people never find their pets. The idea of never knowing what happened to them is haunting. She will be cremated and we will spread her ashes.”

Have you seen Rachel, since 11 p.m. on Dec. 3 she’s been missing from her home at the corner of Hollow Tree Ridge and Crooked Mile roads in Darien. The 7-year-old miniature pinscher weighs 12 pounds and is wearing a brown collar with flowers on it. If you see either, please contact the Nusslein family at 203-554-2034. “Our search team believes she may have lost her collar in the woods and that someone is caring for her without notifying vets or animal control,” says an announcement.
