A 25-year-old Darien man wanted on misdemeanor charges in Georgia, was stopped by a police officer on the Post Road for a minor traffic violation and twice gave the officer a false name, police said. Darien police gave this further information (including accusations not proven in court):

The man, a resident of Allen O’Neill Drive, was stopped just before 9 a.m. on Dec. 27 as he was driving a 2008 Ford Focus west on the Post Road near Richmond Drive. He told the officer he didn’t have his driver’s license with him but gave the officer a name that turned out to be false when the officer checked it. The officer asked him again, and the man gave a second name, which the officer found also didn’t have a Connecticut driver’s license attached to it.
