Someone activated a burglar alarm when they entered a house where no one was home late last Friday night on Hancock Lane. Police arriving soon afterward found the master bedroom ransacked, but nothing appeared to have been taken.

Police gave this account of the incident:

The burglar alarm sent a call to police at 10:35 p.m. Police arrived to find the front door unlocked. It appeared that entry was made through a window in the master bedroom.

A family member of the elderly resident who lived there said someone was last at the house the day before (Thursday, May 19).

The police report noted that the officers reactivated the alarm when they entered the home, indicating it was audible, although the report didn’t specify that.
