Margaret M. Harrington on April 29, 2023 after a long and fulfilling life. She was 94. Marge was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 20, 1929 to John (Jack) and Margaret (Maggie) McCabe. She attended Fontbonne Hall Academy in Brooklyn on an academic scholarship. Later she and her family supported the school’s scholarship fund.

Sally Cooke Bull, recently of Darien, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Maplewood of Darien. She was 90. She was born on July 20, 1932 in Montclair, NJ, to the late C. Gordon Cooke and Bertha Fulton Cooke. Sally grew up in Essex Fells, New Jersey, an insulated, idyllic suburb near New York City. She went from a tomboy trying to keep up with her older brothers to the debutante life of cotillions and ball gowns.

Tanya Thilmany has died. She was 91. She is the first of two children of Grigory and Glafira (nee Stankevich) Vernigora, both refugees of the Russian Revolution; Glafira, making her way with family assistance from St. Petersburg to Istanbul as a 17-year old, while Grigory, then aged 18, stowed away on a ship from Yalta bound for the same destination. The two later met in a Russian neighborhood.

David Eric Nelson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and colleague, passed away from prostate cancer on April 12, 2023, at his home in Darien, Connecticut. He was 75. David was born on July 24, 1947, in Washington, D.C. to Gideon Erik Nelson and Amy Bostrom Nelson. He grew up in St. Louis, along with his younger brother, Peter Brook Nelson.

Rosamond Lehren Emmons, a resident of Darien for 60 years, died Tuesday, April 4, at Bridges Memory Care in Norwalk, just shy of her 91st birthday. Artistic, community-oriented, and forever fashionable, Roz was a tour de force. She was a passionate wife, mother, and award-winning painter. Born in Yonkers, New York, on April 21,1932, she was the fourth child and only daughter of Hazel and James Lehren. Roz grew up in Riverside and attended Greenwich Academy.
