Rosamond Emmons, 90, Active in PTA, St. Luke’s Parish, Helped Start Precursor to Darien Arts Center

Rosamond Lehren Emmons, a resident of Darien for 60 years, died Tuesday, April 4, at Bridges Memory Care in Norwalk, just shy of her 91st birthday. Artistic, community-oriented, and forever fashionable, Roz was a tour de force. She was a passionate wife, mother, and award-winning painter. Born in Yonkers, New York, on April 21,1932, she was the fourth child and only daughter of Hazel and James Lehren. Roz grew up in Riverside and attended Greenwich Academy.

  • Aquarium Looking for Volunteers to Track Terrapins — an At-Risk Species in Connecticut

    The Maritime Aquarium is currently seeking volunteers to join its Terrapin Tracking Team to protect Northern Diamondback Terrapins, a species of concern in the State of Connecticut. Virtual training sessions will be held on Tuesday, March 28, and Monday, April 3 at 7 p.m. for those interested in joining the team.
